Weekly Trading Update - March 9-13
Well it was another profitable, but unspectacular week for me. The really big profits are eluding me at the moment as I keep getting closed out early, but at least they are still turning out to be profitable positions.
There were three trades in total this week. Two of these were opened on Monday with the first of these being on the USD/JPY pair. The Supertrend is still positive for this pair on the daily chart so I was looking for an upwards EMA crossover on the 4 hour charts, and after doing so I entered on a pull-back at 98.50.
The price then continued to rise and I closed half for 40 points at 98.90, moved my stop loss to break-even, and let the other half run looking for at least another 40 points. Unfortunately though I was stopped out on this one.
The other trade that took place on Monday was on the EUR/USD pair. I was looking for shorting opportunities on this pair (as per the daily Supertrend) and it looked like the EMAs were going to cross downwards on the 4 hour chart so I entered a position on the 2 hour chart at 1.2625. (I was a little premature on this one because the EMAs on the 4 hour chart still hadn't actually crossed but there was a perfect set-up on the 2 hour chart so I thought it was worth the risk). Anyway I did manage to close half the position for 50 points but I was again stopped out at break-even for the other half of the trade.
The final trade this week occurred yesterday back on the USD/JPY pair. The EMAs had just crossed over overnight and I used the 2 hour chart to enter on a pull-back at exactly 98.00. Again this position initially moved in my favour and I managed to close half the position for 40 points, but annoyingly I was stopped out yet again at break-even.
So it was a pretty frustrating (and somewhat tedious) week in general but hopefully we will start to see some bigger market swings in the coming weeks.

hi James
thanks for sharing ur Trades, but is there anyway you can show a Visual Chart of the 2 hr TF,as i am trying to understand how you define a PULLBACK…and what it is that gives the actual trigger point on the chart.
Thanks once again.

Hi,
I shall be updating my 4 hour trading strategy page soon to demonstrate exactly how I enter positions on the 2 hour chart.
